Lufthansa Industry Solutions and NEC Smart Cruise fuel the Power of Two
Leading Global Cruise System Integrator joins forces with UC and IT Cruise Powerhouse to serve the Cruise Industry, which is bouncing back after Covid.
Hamburg, Miami, Hilversum, 18 January 2023 – Lufthansa Industry Solutions (LHIND), one of the leading Global System Integrators for the Cruise Industry with offices in Miami, USA and Hamburg, Germany, and NEC Smart Cruise, the division within NEC Enterprise Solutions that is 100 % dedicated to the Global Marine and Cruise Industry, have announced to set up a strategic partnership enabling LHIND to sell, install, commission, and support the entire NEC Smart Cruise Solutions Portfolio to the demanding Cruise Market.
As Frank Sandmann-Litfin, Account & Partner Manager Maritime of Lufthansa Industry Solutions, confirms: ‘We have been extremely impressed by the focus, dedication, and commitment of the NEC Smart Cruise Team. Not only does NEC have the right solutions to serve these ‘moving assets’ across the 7 Seas, they also have the breadth and depth to serve the most demanding cruise operators, now and in the future.
“Based on NEC’s expertise, longstanding experience and vast installed base in the sector, NEC was not only an important complement within the LHIND Cruise Portfolio. The fact that they invest significantly in technology partners (such as for instance Callisto for Cruise from CT Module), we also find an important and very valuable factor for the upcoming years.
Kees van Donk, Sr Director Travel, Hospitality & Leisure at NEC Enterprise Solutions, can only reconfirm: “I could not agree more with the statement from Frank; both our companies share the same dedication and commitment to the industry. From a business perspective and customer viewpoint though, there is little overlap. We see this as excellent news, as this means that both organizations have ample opportunity to grow.”
“As we have started the partnership with LHIND based on core solutions within our NEC Smart Cruise Portfolio (Unified Communications, Mobility, Alarming), we are also at present ‘testing the water’ with some of their more innovative customers with respect to Biometrics and AI applications that address and support critical processes during a cruise, such as Boarding and On-Boarding. We are therefore very pleased that LHIND and NEC join forces at the upcoming SeaTrade Global, 27 - 30 March 2023 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where we will be proud to showcase these new solutions to the industry”, van Donk concludes.
